Some people don’t believe in the power of visualization, but I do. I thought alot about posting my 2010 mind movie on my blog. Its pretty personal. This leaves me open for unwanted ridicule.

I just watched the video. I did not order anything from the site. I own the secret and I try to watch it once a month. So I understand the concept. If you have never seen the secret, go out and rent it today. It will be the best thing you have ever done for yourself.

Overall it was good though and I wanted to stay, but I did not get the option. Having two stores is a lot of work for me. But I would definitely like to get a permanent location there in the future.

So after Jan 9th Cake will only be at the downtown location.

We have been doing some fun marketing stuff. A new media company has taken over my marketing and they are doing a great job. They are producing a show called Caketv. So far its been pretty fun for me. I also got a call from MTS TV and they are doing a documentary on designers in Winnipeg. They are filming in the store tomorrow morning. They liked the media site and want todo something similar. We will also post it on caketv.

This kind of marketing is really fun and I hope this is just the beginning.

Cake Holiday Collection Fashion Show Video

I really like this part of the world. One day I would like to own a home in Asia. I want my family tobe introduced to this culture as I was.

I have always been influenced by Chinese culture. When my great grand parents emigrated to Winnipeg from Ireland they lived in downtown Winnipeg, China Town. At this time, both Chinese and Irish emigrants were poor. I had five great aunts. Only my grandmother married, the others war brides.

All five sisters were heavily involved in the Chinese church. They helped many Chinese emigrants when they first arrived to Winnipeg.

When I was young, my Grandma’s Chinese friends were invited to every Christmas dinner. My dads friends growing up were Chinese as well.

Its not surprising that my career lead me here or that I live in downtown Winnipeg.

I am leaving for Canada tomorrow morning. I’m ready to come home. I will be bringing the holiday collection back with me.

I really have not updated the site recently, too busy. I have a photoshoot scheduled for when I return. The site will be updated soon after.

The next few weeks are going tobe really busy for me. I have a trade show this weekend and after that I have to start working on opening the new store at St Vital Centre.

Raymond and I went out for a great dinner and after we went for message.

Not too sure where my life took the turn that it was common practice for me to go to massage parlors with Asian business men. But I like it!

We are going back to Hong Kong in the morning. The next day I travel back home.

We had sea food when we arrived and a masseuse came to the room at the end of the night. She was a little weird. She texted her friends while she massaged me.

Last time I was here we went to a massage parlor and I got some angry Chinese girl who had it in for me. She was so aggressive. It was totally weird. At one point there was two people working on me and there were five people in the room.

I had to take her hands off me and tell her to stop. She wouldn’t. No one spoke English, but it was pretty obvious I did not want her touching me.

They just continued to speak Chinese and paid no attention to me. I was pretty mad. The next day I was in so much pain. She put my back out. It even hurt to breath. I had to get on a plain that day. That really sucked.

I got up early this morning and went for breakfast. I really can’t be alone here. No one speaks English and I don’t have any money. The currency is different and only have Hong Kong dollars.

Betty, the design technician, is picking us up at 9:30 and will spend the day at the factory. I’m looking forward to that.

This morning I was up at 5:00 am I have not adjusted to the time change. I went for a walk on the harbor. When I cam back I finished my specs and got the collection ready to take to the factory. We are leaving for China tomorrow afternoon. We are staying two nights. Should be fun. I just don’t like the travel there. It is 5 hours through the country side. Its pretty boring.

Today I spent some time in the fabric market. I also was also in Mong Kok. That is the ladies market. I spend most of my free time here. There is so much todo. I did some shopping and went to see Michael Jackson’s This is it. I thought it was pretty boring actually.

I only made it an hour into the movie and got up and left. Maybe if I had held out it would have got more interesting. I didn’t have the patients to wait. It was basically rehearsal footage. I liked the documentary done about him a few years back by that British journalist better.

I did see the preview for 2012. That movie looks great! The movie is based on predictions made by Nostradamus. I want to see that when I get back home.

Tonight we went to Hong Kong Island, Lan Kwai Fong. Its really nice there. We ate Vietnamese food, really good. I have only been to Hong Kong Island twice. I usually stay on the Kowloon side. I prefer the Hong Kong side. There are tons of great restaurants and pubs. The night life is better on the island.

We both ate and drank too much. So that was fun.

I bought a detox foot-bath online before I left. I bought it in China and they delivered to my hotel. I bought my first one in a year ago. I’m totally into it. It is the coolest thing I’ve ever owned. I use it every second day.

If you don’t know anything about the ion foot-bath. It’s a detox machine. You soak your feet in a tub of tap water with a bit of table salt. You hook your self up the the machine and it drains the toxins from your body through your feet. The feet are considered the second heart. I think it is because of all the pours in them. You could soak any part of your body but the best results come from the feet.

The sessions are a half an hour. That is the time it takes your blood to circulate once through your body.

I used to have alot of food allergies. like yeast and glutton. Using the bath has cleared that up. I had skin problems. There gone too. It also drains the fat and sugar out of your blood system so it is good for weight management as well. There is literally a layer of fat on the water when I am finished. It cleanses your organs so your metabolism can work efficiently.

The water looks pretty gross after. Sometimes its green or black or brown even red. Depending on how you have treated your body before the detox. The colors of the water mean different things. Like black specks in the water means you have heavy metals in your system. I think this comes from prescription drugs. It also can be tar if you are a smoker.

He seemed a little depressed too. I think business is still really slow here. No one can believe the recession has lasted this long. He thought it would be over by now. It is expected to last another season. Just what everyone needs right now.

I slept in today. Raymond and I met at 10:30. I applied for my Chinese visa and we went for Dim Sum. The visa will not be ready until Friday. We discussed the plan for the week.

After that I spent the day on my own. I didn’t feel like working today. I still have to finish my fall/holiday collection. We don’t leave for China until Friday so I have some time before that.

I will also spend some time in the fabric market this week. I only choose prints fabrics there and I don’t plan on using any prints this season. But I should go see what what fabrics are popular.

I went for a walk on the Hong Kong harbor. I took some video and pictures. You can have a first hand look at Hong Kong Smog. Looking across the harbor the pollution is pretty obvious. The other side of the harbor seems so far away. It really isn’t. I couldn’t upload the video.

This is a picture of a couple I saw having wedding pictures done. I had to take their picture. Check out this guys tails and shoes. What a sweet-pea! He’s just so clueless it’s absolutely adorable.

The fish bowl is the entrance to a message parlor I went to this after noon. I love these floors. I was in a message parlor in China once where the entire floor as a fish bowl, totally cool. The message was amazing. I guess it goes without saying that the message in Hong Kong is pretty awesome.

Raymond and I are going out for Seafood tonight. It is crab season here. I like crab. Should be a nice meal.

Its basically about how screwed up relationships get and her level of frustration is absolutely priceless. I recommend it for those who are messed up by love. I would guess that would pretty much be 90% of the population. Anyways, It’s worth a watch. It even gives a bit of hope to the total insanity.

I had another 14 hours of travel time to kill. I was feeling romantic, so I spent the rest of my time watching chick flicks. I watched another four movies. The highlight of the day was Happy Accidents.

I arrived at the hotel. I’m staying at the Kowloon Hotel again. Raymond was supposed to meet me in the lobby, but he was not here when I arrived. I took the airport train to my hotel and I arrived alot sooner than I expected. I guess we will meet for Dim Sum in the morning.

I went for a bit of a walk after I checked in. There is a little Irish pub close to my hotel. It sticks out like a sore thumb here. It filled with British tourist. There are alot here. I had a drink and a bite to eat and went back to my room. I’m still pretty tired from my trip and I am looking forward to tomorrow.
